Monthly Update // April 2026

Today is the 1st of April 2026.

Monthly Updates are posts at the beginning of every month, to go over the events of the previous month, and to prepare for the upcoming month.

Previous Month Recap

I played through and finished Resident Evil: Requiem. This was a very high quality game, as expected. I plan to play through it multiple more times and eventually Platinum it, but I need a break from it for a bit.

I kept an eye on Crimson Desert but had bad feelings about the quality of the story missions given the number of revealed total quests, and I believe my hunch was right. It's in line with what you would expect from the devs of the MMO Black Desert Online.

Instead I started to look more into Screamer and decided to take a gamble on it. What sold me was the focus on having a narrative, and the style. I'm not even a real big arcade racing fan, but I like the direction of where this was going so I purchased it. The menu UI is great and so is the music.

April 2026

  • Mouse: P.I. For Hire
  • PRAGMATA
  • Saros
I played through Returnal back when it released and I really enjoyed it. The only issue I had was the randomized collectibles (cyphers, I think). Saros looks to be more of the same, but more of the same isn't appealing to me right now. PRAGMATA is my focus for this month as it has that cool style few games have nowadays.

In other general gaming news, Playstation has raised the prices of all their consoles. I already have my PS5 Pro, but the upcharge is quite absurd. As an owner, I'm not sure the Pro is even worth the old price yet, given that the library of this generation does not seem to reach it's full potential.
